I had scheduled the project of photographing the academic and administration building of UTPA as a one-day session of interiors and exteriors. When the day of shoot arrived, however, it was only marginally acceptable for exterior photography so we photographed all the interiors. It was a regular school day and the parking lot was completely filled, anyway. So were the classrooms, hallways and student centers — everything was packed with students! Fortunately they were all happy to work with me and give us the space we needed to create beautiful interiors with only one or two kids in the pictures.
In keeping with my policy of always giving my clients more than they pay for, I came back for a second day (on my own time) to to get the exterior shots. That day was a beautiful day and to my amazement the parking lot was completely empty and I had the run of the outside of the building myself.
